Learning to teach Yoga is an amazing journey, often referred to as a journey of self discovery. If you are a passionate Yogi you will love learning and experiencing the joy of teaching others. Although we have lots of fun along the way, our training program is detailed and thorough and therefore you will be required to put in effort, time, commitment, attendance and a lot of loving kindness to yourself and your fellow students. There will be reading material to study and learn, homework to complete, skills to practice away from the training room and continuous study. For this reason you must be sure you are at a time in your life where you can dedicate your time and energy to this course. Stable personal circumstances, good mental and physical health, a willingness to put in the hours, to show up and try your best is all that we ask for. So if you feel this is for you then please read on!

Our Aim

Our aim is to to provide a 300 hour teacher training course which encompasses the physical, spiritual, philosophical and energetic teachings of yoga. Our high standard of training is designed to enable students to further integrate the teachings into their everyday life and to guide them in such a way they are able to impart the traditions of yoga to their students attending their classes.

Alongside the theory work, a great emphasis will be given on how to teach honestly and safely to accommodate all levels and abilities within a classical Hatha yoga class.

Prospective students will be expected to have at least two years regular practice of yoga with either ourselves at Bude yoga and therapy space or with another teacher within a class setting. They should already have a reasonable understanding of yoga and feel ready and able to commit to immersing themselves into this life enhancing, profound and adventurous journey.

The teacher training course will be taken by Debbie Avery who has been teaching for four decades. She has been a senior teacher training tutor for Friends of Yoga (FRYOG) having taught a vast number of yoga teachers over the years. Debbie is very fortunate to have studied with many great and inspiring teachers world wide.

Alongside Debbie is Mike Bourne, registered osteopath, yoga practitioner and qualified trained yoga teacher. Mike has been practising yoga for thirty four years and as a medical practitioner integrates yoga and its teachings into his bodywork.
